Simple and delicious. This is a zesty smoothie or smoothie bowl that is low in fruit/fructose and high in flavour and nutrients! Lemon is a great flavour when trying to avoid high sugar fruit. Plus you get all the powerful vitamin C benefits – digestive, cleansing, immune boosting, hydrating, alkalising, anti-bacterial! The soaked macadamia’s make it nice and thick, plus add much-needed healthy fats to our morning start to keep as satiated throughout the morning.
- 1 serving vanilla protein I use NuZest
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 lemon juiced
- 2 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 cup almond/coconut milk
- 1/3 cup soaked macadamias soaked overnight or for 2 hours
- 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
- 1 tsp stevia optional
- Blend together. Add more ice for thickness. Top with shredded coconut, nuts and lemon zest!
