The tummy pleaser

The tummy pleaser

Why the tummy pleaser? Well, because the three key ingredients contain enzymes that aid digestion… Pineapple, kiwi and papaya each contain bromelain, actinidin and papain, respectively. These all assist in the digestion of proteins and absorption of nutrients. Most interestingly, there has been evidence of pineapple juice used to dissolve gastric bezoars or undigested food in the stomach. The papain in papaya is predominately found in the skin and seeds, which is why we include them in this smoothie. Ginger is also renown for it’s tummy-soothing effects, particularly for relieving nausea. These fruits, plus the banana and greens all provide considerable amounts of both insoluble and soluble fibre. Insoluble fiber is important for digestion as it helps move waste through your digestive tract, promoting regular bowel motions. SO! Now you can see why this is called the tummy pleaser?!
